How you can improve your website and be on the way to making money online

So you work hard on your website and you just don’t seem to be getting anywhere. I have heard this said over and over that usually when you quit you are just about to get out of the hard part and start to succeed. So do not quit unless you know for sure that your niche is dead or that you are just not capable of making money in that particular niche.

The first thing you will want to do is to check and see if it is something you are doing wrong. You need to see if you can improve your website to bring in more conversions, improve your writing or whatever, you just need to find out what is preventing you from doing great.

So one way to see if you need to improve on something is to get a non biased review of your website and its content/design. One place to do this is the review sections at:

Go to both of those forums and any other forum you know of that has a review section and get people to review your site. If you have a bunch of online friends then ask them, the more comments the better as you want to see what a lot of different people have to say and see if some of what they are saying is being repeated. Like if 10 people out of 15 say you need to improve the writing and even the design of the site then you should look into it.

Now the second step is to fix your site if it needs to be fixed. If nothing on your site is really hurting you then move on to the next step.

What you will need to do next is to watch your competition. You really need to study up on what similar sites or blogs in your niche are doing. Such as what they talk about, the writing style, the ads on their site, the design of their site and many other things. If you want to get above the rest in your niche then you need to take what they are doing to the next step. You could try something new that they are not doing or just improve on what they are doing.

I like to try and figure out where my competitions traffic is coming from. Some of the competition might tell where they get the traffic from such as PPC programs such as Adwords or if they get it through natural search engine traffic.

One thing I like to do is to go to yahoo.com and even google.com. I prefer yahoo for this step as they seem to show more results as google never seems to show as many results as yahoo does.

So now that you are at the yahoo home page type in the search bar link:www.blablayadayada.com.
So you want to put your competitions link in there not what I have posted. I know you probably know that but I am just making sure so not to confuse anyone. This is the site explorer and you can see all the incoming links to their site. This will show you who is linking to them and how many backlinks they have. Backlinks are very important for a website and I hope to discuss this soon. I will talk about back links when I start talking about setting up a website so be sure and subscribe to my RSS feed in the top right hand corner.

You can go to those sites that are linking to them and maybe get a link there yourself. Or you can see what content people are linking to the most from your competition so you can copy what they are doing.

You want to give people a reason to come to your site. We all like our own content and think it is great but it may not always be the best. That is why having people review your site can help point out problems. Be sure and ask yourself “If I was not the owner of this site, would I like the content and want to come back”? And ask “Why is my site better than others sites”? Then you want to ask “How can I make my site better and help it to stand out from the rest”?

Keep working hard everyone. It will take work to get above the competition and once you have a nice amount of people reading your blog often it will get easier to succeed. What I mean is the people reading will probably share and link to your content which will send new visitors to your site. When the new visitors come they might also share your content and that is how it can go viral on the internet.
